Media 21 Owner Rob Price recently served as executive producer for Murdoch, a multiple award-winning film produced by Southwestern Cinema (Southwestern Assemblies of God University). Price teaches media courses at the campus located in Waxahachie, Texas. As of June 2011, Murdoch has received five awards and three other nominations from various film festivals across the country. Below is a summary.
2011 Worldfest Film Festival (short film category): Platinum Award in Editing, Platinum Award in Screenplay, Gold Award in Cinematography
On the Edge Film Festival (short film category): Best Short Film
iNRB Student Competition (student film): Third Place Student Short Film
Murdoch received two nomination, Best Costuming for Short Films and Best Student Film from the Bare Bones Film Festival (Oklahoma). The film has also been nominated for an award at the New Hope Film Festival in Pennsylvania to be held in July 2011.
The short film is a comedy that traces the story of young Alex who is obsessed with Merle Murdoch, a fictional cowboy movie hero. Click here to view film online.
